Of Counsel – Family Law Trial Attorney (Part-Time)
The FAB Law Firm, LLC is seeking a trial-experienced Family Law Attorney to join our team as Of Counsel on a part-time basis (three days per week). This position is litigation-focused and intended for attorneys who regularly appear in court and are comfortable handling contested family law matters through evidentiary hearings and trial.
This role is not administrative or intake-focused. It is designed for attorneys who actively litigate, argue motions, examine witnesses, and prepare cases for trial.
Remote work is available; however, in-person court appearances are required.
Position OverviewThe Of Counsel attorney will handle litigation‑heavy family law matters and work collaboratively with firm leadership and support staff. The ideal candidate can step into an active case, assess litigation posture, and move the matter efficiently toward trial or resolution.
Duties and Responsibilities- Appear in court for hearings, evidentiary proceedings, mediations, and trials
- Handle contested family law litigation from pre‑trial through final hearing
- Conduct direct and cross‑examinations of witnesses
- Draft and argue motions and other litigation pleadings
- Prepare trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial strategies
- Participate in mediations with a trial‑ready approach
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding litigation status and strategy
- Coordinate with firm staff to ensure cases are trial‑ready and deadlines are met
- Minimum of two years of relevant family law litigation experience
- Demonstrated trial and evidentiary hearing experience required
- Active Florida Bar license and in good standing
- Strong courtroom presence and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage a litigation‑heavy caseload
- Excellent writing, organization, and time‑management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
Juris Doctor (J.D.)
Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida
CompensationCompensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. The Of Counsel relationship may be structured as an hourly, flat‑fee, per‑appearance, percentage, or commission‑based arrangement, to be outlined in a separate Of Counsel Agreement.
