Litigation Attorney (Remote - Texas License Required)
A multi-state law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney licensed in Texas. While the position offers flexibility for remote work, candidates should be based in Texas preferably in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for in-person court appearances as needed.
This role focuses on pre-litigation and litigation matters involving real estate, title, mortgages, foreclosure, and creditors rights. The position offers a strong platform for attorneys who are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and skilled in civil litigation.
Position OverviewThe Litigation Attorney will manage cases from inception to resolution, develop litigation strategies, and represent clients in hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.
Key Responsibilities- Manage litigation cases from inception to completion
- Handle pre-litigation matters and clear title to real property
- Develop budgets and legal strategies, seeking client and partner approval
- Research and prepare legal analysis on risks, exposure, and case strategies
- Draft and argue pleadings and motions
- Conduct all aspects of discovery
- Collaborate with clients and supervising partners to implement strategies
- Attend court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences (telephonic, video, and in-person)
- Assist with bankruptcy motions, hearings, and adversary proceedings as needed
- Manage other duties and special projects as assigned
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Texas (additional licenses in other states within the firm’s footprint are a plus)
- 2-4 years of litigation experience preferred; entry-level candidates with a strong interest in real estate or mortgage law will be considered
- Knowledge of foreclosure, real estate, secured transactions, and creditors rights preferred (but not required)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and online research
- Ability to meet annual billable hour requirements (1920 hours)
- Residency in Texas (or within the firm’s footprint) with willingness to attend in-person hearings as required
- Strong client service focus and responsiveness
- Problem-solving mindset with initiative and self-direction
- Conscientious time management and adherence to deadlines
- Logical and critical thinking in advancing cases
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage a large, complex caseload
- Team-oriented and adaptable to evolving needs
