Executive Legal Recruiter | Attorney | Author and Independent ScholarWe are working with a mid-size, Columbia, SC based, boutique law firm having offices throughout the South Carolina, as well as in Charlotte, NC, and concentrating on construction law, real estate transactions, corporate transactions, mortgage banking, creditor services, insurance, health care law, and related litigation. The firm seeks an experienced banking transactions attorney (3-7 yrs. experience) who can assist with complex banking transactions tasks.
The expected compensation is $160,000 - $210,000/yr. The position is onsite; but remote work may be considered for an attorney located in Greenville or Charleston, SC, depending upon factors deemed relevant by the firm’s hiring partners.
- Lead drafting, reviewing, and negotiating documentation for a wide range of credit and finance transactions, including the following.
- Term and revolving credit facilities
- Asset-based lending
- Private credit transactions
- Intercreditor and subordination arrangements
- Amendments, waivers, and restructurings
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, lenders, and counter parties.
- Manage deal processes from initial structuring through closing, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery.
- Provide strategic, commercially focused advice on credit structures, market terms, and risk allocation.
- Oversee due diligence, supervise junior associates, and contribute to internal training and knowledge development.
- Monitor legal and market developments affecting credit and lending practices and advise clients accordingly.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in [relevant jurisdiction]
- Seven to fifteen (7–15) years of experience in credit, leveraged finance, private credit, or related transactional work
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex transactions and client relationships
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and efficiently
- Proven ability to mentor and supervise junior attorneys
- High level of professionalism, judgment, and attention to detail
