An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Assistant or Grade A/B Fee Earner to join a high-quality Catastrophic Injury and Clinical Negligence practice, working entirely remotely.
This role offers the chance to work on complex, high-value litigation involving life-changing injuries, vulnerable clients, significant quantum, and challenging liability issues. These are not routine cases, but matters that require care, intellectual rigour, and a genuine commitment to achieving outstanding outcomes for clients.
The Role- Working closely with a Senior Fee Earner on a portfolio of high-value Catastrophic Injury and Clinical Negligence claims
- Taking initial instructions from clients and preparing draft witness statements
- Drafting letters of claim and other pre-action correspondence
- Managing key dates, diarising deadlines, and ensuring compliance with court timetables and the CPR
- Liaising with experts, counsel, clients, and third parties
- Attending conferences with counsel (remotely and occasionally in person)
- Taking witness statements on liability and quantum
- Researching quantum and other complex legal issues
- Preparing court documents including claim forms, schedules of loss, particulars of claim, and lists of documents
- Instructing and briefing counsel
- Managing your own caseload, alongside supporting on higher-value matters
This role will suit a qualified lawyer or experienced fee earner operating at Grade A or B level, who is motivated by intellectually demanding work and wants to play a meaningful role in serious injury and clinical negligence litigation.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in, or a strong demonstrable interest in, high-value personal injury, catastrophic injury, and/or clinical negligence
- A solid understanding of litigation processes, the MOJ Portal, and the Civil Procedure Rules
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong initiative and analytical ability — cases are rarely straightforward
- A compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with clients
- Clear, confident communication skills
- 100% remote working
- Exposure to exceptional quality work rather than volume-driven caseloads
- A role offering autonomy, responsibility, and professional development
- The opportunity to work closely with senior practitioners on some of the most complex and rewarding cases in this area of law
This is a rare opportunity for someone seeking meaningful, high-quality litigation work within a supportive and specialist environment, without the constraints of office-based working.
