Role Description
This is a full‑time hybrid role for an Employment Counsel. The Employment Counsel will provide legal advice and counseling on restrictions employment practices, policies, and compliance while ensuring alignment with applicable laws and regulations. Key responsibilities include drafting and reviewing employment‑related agreements, handling employment disputes, conducting training sessions, and providing guidance on labour and employment risks. This role is based in Washington, D.C., with flexibility for some remote work.
Qualifications
- Experienced in Corporate employment law with at least 5 years experience in‑house okupist at a firm supporting corporate clients’ employment and labor needs.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and labor regulations
- Skilled in legal drafting, contract review, and employment‑related agreements
- Proficient in managing employment disputes and counseling on workplace investigations
- Highly detail‑oriented with excellent communication, research, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to provide training on employment law, compliance, and policy updates
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in the D.C. Bar or eligibility to practice law in the jurisdiction
- Experience in healthcare legal matters, labor relations, or nonprofit organizations is a plus
