Job Description

This position will serve as Staff Attorney to all the Judges as well as the Director of Central Staff.

Education and Training Guidelines

Graduation from an accredited law school/Florida Bar.

Senior level requires at least two years’ experience in the practice of law, and Florida Bar membership. $6,543.32 monthly.

Career level requires at least five years’ experience in the practice of law, and Florida Bar membership. $7,360.34 monthly.

Competencies

Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team of eight attorneys. Ability to maintain a large caseload and meet deadlines. Knowledge of legal principles, statutory and case law, court rules and procedures. Comprehensive knowledge of legal publications and the ability to use them effectively. Ability to reason logically and analytically. Ability to grasp, comprehend, and analyze complex issues and complicated factual matters.

Ability to perform exacting work, attentive to details. Ability to cut through and discern legal issues in matters before the court. Ability to digest and communicate ideas and concepts orally and in writing. Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, impartiality and honesty in handling matters before the court. Ability to work effectively with judges and court staff.

Criminal Post-conviction experience is a plus.

Salary Range and Benefits:

The range is $5,769.90-$7,360.34/month.
