Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer – Part-Time (20 Hours) – Remote – Initial 3+ months – Up to £60 per hour (Umbrella)

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join a friendly Local Authority on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer to take on a new interim challenge.

The Role:

Position: Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer

Duration: Initial 3+ months with the possibility for extension

Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella

Working Pattern
:
Part-Time – 20 hours per week, remote working

Role Responsibilities:
  • Providing commercial advice to support various Council departments and external clients on complex commercial and procurement matters
  • Managing a varied commercial and procurement caseload independently
  • Advising on matters relating to the supply of goods, services and works
  • Supporting on contracts across construction, IT, engineering, social services, education and public health
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant procurement legislation and regulatory requirements
Candidate Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (or equivalent) with proven experience in Commercial Contracts and Procurement Law
  • Experience working within Local Government or the public sector is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of public procurement legislation and commercial frameworks
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload independently and provide pragmatic, solution-focused advice
