An established and reputable personal injury practice is seeking an experienced Serious Injury Associate to handle a high‑value, complex caseload involving life‑changing injuries. This position sits within a specialist serious injury team, working with clients who have suffered traumatic events and require exceptional levels of support, care, and expertise.
You will be able to work in a London hub or fully remote.
Client DetailsYou will independently manage a caseload of serious injury claims typically valued between £150,000 and £5 million+, predominantly arising from road traffic accidents. Alongside fee‑earning responsibilities, you will also provide mentorship to colleagues and contribute to the continued growth and strategic development of the department.
Description- Manage and progress your own caseload of complex, high‑value serious injury claims.
- Deliver outstanding client care, maintaining strong and empathetic relationships through regular communication and meetings.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary experts including medical specialists, case managers, architects, forensic accountants, and counsel.
- Draft high‑quality legal documentation such as witness statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss.
- Secure early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation support for clients.
- Lead and mentor members of the client case team, conducting reviews, providing guidance, and supporting their development.
- Support the implementation of new processes and best practice across the team.
- Actively engage in business development activities, including writing articles, reporting cases, and representing the department within relevant industry organisations (e., APIL, Headway, SIA).
- Drive case progression while meeting KPIs relating to client care, team performance, fee income, and recoveries.
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEx Fellow with approx. 8+ years PQE or equivalent demonstrable expertise.
- Proven experience handling high‑value serious injury cases as lead fee earner.
- Strong technical litigation skills and excellent knowledge of court procedures.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues; a collaborative team player and role model.
- Demonstrable commitment to delivering exceptional client care.
- Strong professional reputation with experience raising organisational profile within the personal injury sector.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment while maintaining high standards.
- Competitive salary ranging from £72,000 to £88,000 per annum.
