Associate or Solicitor - Personal Injury, EL​/PL

DWF Law LLP is seeking to recruit an Associate or Solicitor to join our growing Major Injury & Casualty team dealing varied caseload of litigated cases across Personal Injury and Employers Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL) claims.

The role can be worked from Glasgow or Edinburgh.

• Managing and progressing a caseload efficiently and proactively
• Handling litigated Personal Injury and EL/PL claims in the Court of Session and the All-Scotland Personal Injury Sheriff Court, under supervision
• Applying strong technical knowledge of litigation, case law and legal principles
• Building and maintaining relationships with key clients
• Ensuring delivery against SLAs and best practice standards
• Supporting and taking ownership on complex, high-value cases
• Continuously developing your technical and commercial expertise
• Help coach, mentor and develop more junior members of the team

• 2+ years Experience handling own caseload of pre-litigated and Sheriff Court Personal Injury and Employers Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL) claims, as well as assisting more senior team members with large value, complex files.
  • We will also consider NQ's that have relevant previous experience.
• Experience managing Employers Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL) and Catastrophic Loss claims.
• Insurance litigation experience is essential.
• Previous experience in Scottish law and a Scotland legal qualifications, are ESSENTIAL for this role.

• Experience handling litigation experience in one of the following area's
  - Employers Liability, Public Liability, Motor, RTA, Casualty, Abuse, Disease, Personal Injury, Serious Injury and Catastrophic Injury
• Experience of acting for Defenders, including litigation experience
  .
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and to work effectively under pressure.
