Locum Childcare Solicitor - Fully Remote Opportunity 🚨

I'm currently working with a Local Authority seeking an experienced Locum Childcare Solicitor to join their well-established Legal Services Team

📅 Initial 3-Month Contract (strong likelihood of long-term rolling extensions)
💷 £60 per hour
🏠 Fully Remote Working (candidates must be based within the EU during working hours)
⏰ 37 Hours Per Week (compressed hours may be considered)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a large, supportive and experienced childcare legal team, handling a varied caseload while supporting Children's Services within a busy Local Authority environment.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Managing a busy caseload of Childcare matters with minimal supervision
✅ Progressing care proceedings independently from inception through to conclusion
✅ Preparing legal documentation and advising on case strategy throughout proceedings
✅ Providing proactive and reliable legal support to Children's Services
✅ Attending meetings and providing legal advice where required
✅ Supporting the wider Childcare team with ongoing casework demands
✅ Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for service users

Essential Requirements:

🔹 Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX Lawyer
🔹 Significant experience handling Childcare Law matters for a Local Authority
🔹 Experience managing a caseload of care proceedings independently
🔹 Strong knowledge of public childcare law and court processes
🔹 Ability to work proactively and effectively within a remote environment
🔹 Availability to work 37 hours per week
🔹 Advocacy experience is advantageous but not essential
