Litigation Paralegal

About the Role

Our client seeks a skilled and organised Litigation Paralegal to support their busy legal practice in Mossel Bay . This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds, allowing for focused remote work and collaborative time in the office. You will provide essential support to litigators, managing case files, preparing legal documents, and assisting with court proceedings. This position is crucial for the efficient operation of the litigation department, ensuring that cases are managed effectively and clients receive exceptional service.

Your organisational prowess and understanding of litigation processes will be highly valued.

• Manage end-to-end litigation case files, from inception to conclusion.
• Draft pleadings, applications, affidavits, and other court documents under supervision.
• Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of findings for attorneys.
• Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials to gather information and coordinate case progression.
• Organise and maintain discovery documents and evidence.
• Assist with trial preparation, including witness management and exhibit organisation.

• Completed Paralegal Diploma or equivalent legal qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation support.
• Proficiency in legal research databases and case management software.
• Strong understanding of court rules and procedures in South Africa.
• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
