Associate​/Senior Associate - Procurement Litigation

Our procurement litigation team sits within Bevan Brittan's commercial and public law litigation department and advises clients on a wide range of contentious procurement matters, from the provision of advice around procurement risk management to conducting High Court litigation to trial. Our clients include major corporates (across a range of markets including IT, infrastructure, construction, transport, and energy), central government departments, local authorities, and NHS bodies.

We act for both Claimants and Defendants, giving our lawyers the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills where no two days are the same.

We are a highly renowned team, described by Chambers 2026 as having "a formidable litigation arm dedicated to procurement challenges".

In addition to procurement disputes, the team advises on a range of commercial disputes for both private sector and public sector clients.

You will be working as part of a national procurement litigation team consisting of 8 qualified lawyers who primarily work out of the Bristol and Leeds offices. You will also be working within our wider corporate, commercial and public law litigation team with the opportunity to be involved in wider disputes work including: judicial review, complex IT disputes, claims for injunctive relief, corporate litigation (including breach of warranty claims and shareholder disputes), contentious IP, defamation/harassment actions, breach of confidentiality claims, commercial contract disputes, and professional negligence.

We are looking for a 5-to-8-year PQE lawyer to join the team.

The successful applicant will possess the following skills key to the role:

• Knowledge of public procurement law including the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023
• Dispute resolution and litigation experience
• Knowledge of/experience in public law litigation and/or commercial litigation
• An aptitude for drafting and legal analysis
• An ability to supervise junior lawyers effectively
• A keenness to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels
• An ability to build strong relationships with clients and intermediaries
• Strong communication skills with a professional approach to work
• Confidence in working directly with clients
• Excellent project management skills and the ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines
• A practical and commercial approach
• A genuine interest in business development
• Strong financial management of client matters.

There are no requirements in relation to a particular number of days in the office. We prefer our teams to have a high degree of flexibility to determine where they will work from based on client and team needs.
