An excellent opportunity for a qualified Employment Solicitor / Barrister to join the in-house Legal team of a Professional Membership body. This can be a remote working role, with occasional visits to Birmingham Office.
The work this team does plays a valuable support service to qualified practitioners in the UK, ensuring they make compliant decisions in times of stress. You will independently manage a varied caseload, advising on disciplinary and grievance matters, redundancy, discrimination, whistleblowing, contractual issues, pay and dismissals. Working closely with 2 Senor solicitors, a flavour of the role is below.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a full employment law caseload from instruction through to conclusion.
- Advise clients clearly and practically on a broad range of employment issues.
- Negotiate settlements where appropriate
- Identify and elevate significant legal, financial or reputational risks.
- Liaise with ACAS, tribunals, counsel, representatives and other stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to Paralegal colleagues when required.
- Maintain high standards of client care, file management and professional compliance.
- Keep up to date with developments in employment law and tribunal procedure.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Employment Solicitor / CILEx with 2+ years' PQE, with strong case file experience. Claimant experience is well suited, but not essential. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, sound professional judgement and the ability to manage a busy caseload independently while delivering pragmatic, high-quality legal advice.
