About the Role
Our client, a forward-thinking organization, is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel with a specialization in Intellectual Property to join their established legal team. This is a fully remote position offering the opportunity to manage and protect the company's valuable IP assets, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. You will play a crucial role in developing IP strategies, advising on IP-related agreements, and ensuring robust protection of innovations.
The role requires a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of IP law and a commitment to fostering an innovative environment from anywhere.
- Develop and implement comprehensive intellectual property strategies to protect the company's innovations and brands.
- Manage the prosecution and maintenance of patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios globally.
- Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licenses, assignments, and joint development agreements.
- Advise business units on IP clearances, freedom-to-operate, and potential infringement risks.
- Conduct IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
- Stay informed about IP law developments and advise on their impact on the business strategy.
- Admitted attorney with at least 6 years of experience focused on intellectual property law.
- Proven experience in patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution and portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of IP licensing, enforcement, and litigation principles.
- Excellent drafting skills for IP-related agreements and legal opinions.
- Ability to think strategically and translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote team environment.
