In-House Legal Counsel - Commercial

Our client seeks an experienced In-House Legal Counsel with a strong focus on Commercial Law to join their progressive team in Upington . You will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to the business, with a primary focus on commercial contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate possesses excellent drafting and negotiation skills, a keen business sense, and the ability to provide practical legal advice that supports the company's strategic objectives.

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including sales contracts, service level agreements, and partnership agreements.
• Advise business stakeholders on contractual risks, legal implications, and compliance matters.
• Ensure adherence to corporate governance principles and relevant statutory requirements.
• Support the business on legal aspects of new projects, product launches, and market expansion.
• Conduct legal research and provide timely advice on commercial legal issues.
• Manage relationships with external legal service providers when required.

• Admitted attorney with a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with significant exposure to commercial law.
• Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of corporate law and regulatory compliance in South Africa.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage multiple priorities in a hybrid setting.
