Subject Access Request Officer
Pay Rate: £25.62 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week, 3 days per week
Working Days: Tuesday to Friday, excluding Mondays
Assignment Length: Temporary, until mid November
Working Arrangement: Remote working available, with offices available across the UK
Start Date: ASAP
Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Subject Access Request Officer to join our client on a temporary basis, providing support during a particularly busy period.
The role will focus on processing Subject Access Requests, including reviewing large volumes of documentation, identifying information that needs to be withheld or redacted, and preparing records for disclosure.
You will need previous experience working with Subject Access Requests and GDPR
, with a good understanding of data protection requirements and the exemptions that can apply when responding to SARs.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in Data Protection, Information Governance, Compliance, Legal or HR who has direct experience handling Subject Access Requests.
Key Responsibilities- Review documents, emails, records and other information relating to Subject Access Requests
- Identify personal, confidential and third party information within documentation
- Review and apply appropriate red actions in line with GDPR and data protection requirements
- Apply knowledge of GDPR exemptions when assessing information for disclosure
- Prepare documentation accurately for release in response to Subject Access Requests
- Handle confidential and sensitive information securely and professionally
- Maintain clear and accurate records of SAR activity and completed work
- Ensure red actions are accurate, consistent and appropriate
- Review potentially large volumes of documentation while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Work to required SAR deadlines and timescales
- Follow relevant policies, procedures and data protection requirements
- Manage your own workload and work independently when required
- Previous experience handling Subject Access Requests is essential
- Good working knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection requirements
- Good understanding of GDPR exemptions and how they apply to Subject Access Requests
- Previous experience reviewing and redacting information for disclosure
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable reviewing large volumes of documentation
- Strong administrative and IT skills
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload
Experience with in Data Protection, Information Governance, Compliance, Legal or HR environments would be beneficial, provided you have directly worked with Subject Access Requests.
