Senior Associate - Mergers & Acquisitions

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to join their prestigious legal team in Randburg . This challenging role involves managing complex M&A transactions, from initial structuring and due diligence through to closing. You will provide expert legal advice to clients and internal stakeholders, negotiate deal terms, and ensure smooth execution of transactions.

The ideal candidate is a results-oriented lawyer with a proven track record in M&A, capable of leading deals and delivering strategic legal solutions in a competitive market.

• Lead and manage all legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions transactions, including due diligence, transaction structuring, and drafting of agreements.
• Negotiate deal terms and advise clients on legal risks and considerations throughout the transaction process.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external counsel, and other advisors to ensure seamless deal execution.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex M&A issues and regulatory requirements.
• Advise on corporate governance and compliance related to M&A activities.
• Manage client relationships and provide strategic legal counsel to support business objectives.

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 6 years of experience specifically in M&A transactions and corporate law.
• Demonstrated success in managing mid-to-large scale M&A deals.
• Expertise in drafting and negotiating M&A agreements (e.g., Share Purchase Agreements, Asset Purchase Agreements).
• Strong understanding of corporate finance, securities law, and regulatory approvals related to M&A.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and project management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously.
