Senior Corporate Counsel - Remote First

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and forward-thinking Senior Corporate Counsel to join their fully remote legal department. This senior position requires a strategic legal mind to provide comprehensive advice on complex corporate matters, international transactions, and regulatory compliance on a global scale. You will be a key advisor to executive leadership, driving legal strategy and mitigating risk across diverse business operations.

• Lead and manage significant corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures, from a legal perspective.
• Provide expert legal counsel on international corporate governance, securities law, and compliance with global regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate high-value, complex commercial agreements with international counter parties.
• Oversee intellectual property strategy, including registration, protection, and enforcement of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
• Manage and resolve cross-border disputes, working with external counsel as necessary.
• Develop and implement robust corporate policies and procedures to ensure global compliance and mitigate legal risks.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience practicing corporate and international law, preferably with significant in-house experience.
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa (or equivalent) with an excellent standing.
• Demonstrated expertise in complex cross-border transactions and corporate structuring.
• In-depth knowledge of international business law, securities regulations, and compliance frameworks.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills, suited for a fully remote role.
