Commercial Law Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially astute Commercial Law Specialist to bolster their legal department based in Pretoria. This role is integral to supporting the company's commercial operations by providing expert legal advice on contracts, corporate transactions, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for mitigating legal risks associated with business activities and ensuring that all commercial ventures align with legal standards and strategic objectives.

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of commercial agreements, including but not limited to, supply agreements, lease agreements, and partnership contracts.
• Advise on corporate law matters, including company formations, restructuring, and compliance with the Companies Act.
• Conduct comprehensive legal due diligence for potential investments, mergers, and acquisitions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including consumer protection laws and industry-specific regulations.
• Manage and resolve commercial disputes, seeking cost-effective and practical solutions.
• Develop and maintain standard legal documentation and templates for commercial use.

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial law.
• In-depth knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and relevant South African legislation.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a client-focused approach.
