Associate – Pensions

Location:

Guildford, Surrey, UK Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid Agile Working Join a prestigious legal practice known for its expertise in pensions law. This firm is renowned for its pragmatic and commercially focused advice, serving a broad client base including trustees, employers, and pension scheme providers. They are committed to excellence and innovation, consistently recognized for their comprehensive approach to legal solutions in various sectors.

Day-to-day of the role:
Support partners and senior lawyers on a wide range of pensions and life assurance matters, including advisory, transactional, and regulatory work. Advise trustee and employer clients on day-to-day pension scheme and life assurance scheme issues, such as scheme governance, benefit structures, and compliance. Assist with the pensions aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence and drafting pensions-related documentation. Draft and review scheme documentation, member communications, and legal advice notes.

Conduct legal research and stay up to date with developments in pensions law and regulatory changes. Participate in client meetings and contribute to delivering practical, client-focused solutions. Support business development activities, including preparing pitches and contributing to thought leadership. Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with up to 3 years’ PQE, ideally with exposure to pensions law. Strong technical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail. Commercial awareness and the ability to understand clients’ business objectives. Excellent drafting and communication skills. A proactive and organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients.
