We are seeking an experienced professional with a solid background in Civil Litigation Law, ideally gained within a Local Authority or Private Practice background. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload, with a particular advantage for those bringing knowledge of Property Litigation.
Duties may include- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal agreements
- Manage a varied caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters, including debt recovery proceedings, from pre-action through to trial and enforcement
- Undertake property litigation work, including landlord and tenant disputes, forfeiture claims, trespass and encroachment matters, dilapidations, possession claims, and related proceedings
- Ensure compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant Pre-Action Protocols
- Provide legal advice on dispute resolution strategies and litigation risk management
- Ensure compliance with GDPR by overseeing data protection policies and practices
- Represent the Council in Court and conduct advocacy where appropriate, primarily through remote hearings with some Court attendance required
