Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Cybersecurity Project Attorney with 1-3 years of experience to join their team in Charlotte, NC, with consideration for remote work within the US. This role involves supporting a dynamic Cybersecurity & Incident Response practice, offering the opportunity to develop expertise in a fast-paced legal environment.

Duties
  • Coordinate responses to security incidents across legal, technical, and business stakeholders.
  • Analyze breach notification laws and advise on obligations and timelines.
  • Advise on security aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Direct forensic investigations and liaise with vendors.
  • Manage regulatory reporting obligations and litigation holds.
  • Draft and review incident-related communications.
  • Conduct data impact assessments and support post-incident remediation.
  • Develop and refine incident response workflows and procedures.
  • Integrate technology into legal practice, including AI solutions.
  • Educate legal professionals on incident response tools and resources.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited institution and admission to practice in a US jurisdiction.
  • 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity incident response or related fields.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with breach notification laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • Interest in legal technology and AI applications.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
Education

  • Admission to practice in good standing in a US jurisdiction.
