Corporate Legal Counsel; Remote

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Corporate Legal Counsel to join their fully remote legal team, supporting operations across South Africa. This position is integral to providing strategic legal guidance on corporate governance, compliance, and commercial transactions. You will be responsible for ensuring that the company operates within legal boundaries while supporting its growth objectives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, comfortable working independently in a virtual setting, and possesses a strong understanding of corporate law principles, contributing to the company's success from anywhere.

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and agreements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant corporate regulations and statutory requirements.
• Manage legal aspects of corporate restructurings, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives.
• Conduct legal due diligence for potential investments and partnerships.
• Support the board of directors and senior management on legal and compliance matters.

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate law, preferably within a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel.
• In-depth knowledge of South African corporate law, company secretarial practices, and commercial agreements.
• Proven experience in managing complex corporate transactions.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
