Scion Legal is pleased to present an exceptional opportunity for two Civil Litigation Associate Attorneys to join a respected, growth-oriented law firm as it continues to build its California presence. With more than 25 years of success, a multi-office platform, and a litigation team recognized in construction, commercial, and insurance-related disciplines, the firm offers associates the chance to handle substantive, sophisticated work while remaining primarily remote.
Attorneys will gain real responsibility across a diverse civil docket—including personal injury, premises liability, construction, business litigation, professional negligence, transportation, products liability, and real estate-related matters—and will work closely with experienced litigators on strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and client service.
- A remote role with no regular weekly in-office requirement
- Occasional in-person attendance for hearings, mediations, depositions, client meetings, inspections, training, office meetings, or other litigation and business needs
- Meaningful involvement in sophisticated civil litigation matters from early investigation through resolution
- A varied docket that includes personal injury, premises liability, construction, commercial disputes, professional negligence, transportation, products liability, and real estate-related litigation

- Anticipated annual compensation package of $145,000–$180,000

- Managing and supporting a broad civil litigation caseload involving personal injury, premises liability, construction, business and commercial disputes, professional negligence, transportation, products liability, and real estate-related matters
- Handling matters from early investigation through resolution, with meaningful involvement in litigation strategy and client communication
- Drafting pleadings, correspondence, written discovery, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
- Propounding and responding to written discovery, coordinating document production, and managing related deadlines
- Taking and defending depositions and assisting with witness preparation
- Conducting legal research and developing persuasive written analysis
- Participating in hearings, mediations, case conferences, inspections, and other proceedings as needed
- Collaborating with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, experts, and internal legal teams
- Evaluating liability and damages issues and contributing to thoughtful, efficient case strategy
- Maintaining an organized, responsive, and client-service-oriented approach while working in a primarily remote environment
- An active California Bar license and in good standing
- At least 3 years of civil litigation experience
- Insurance-defense experience, strongly preferred
- Experience in one or more relevant practice areas, including personal injury, premises liability, construction, business or commercial litigation, professional negligence, transportation, products liability, or real estate-related litigation
- Demonstrated experience with discovery, depositions, motion practice, and litigation case management
