Senior Corporate Counsel

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Senior Corporate Counsel to join their fully remote legal department. This is a leadership role responsible for providing expert legal advice on a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters. You will play a crucial part in shaping the company's legal strategy, managing significant transactions, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law, capable of working autonomously and collaborating effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams in a virtual environment, serving clients nationwide from Randburg .

• Provide strategic legal counsel on corporate governance, securities law, mergers and acquisitions, and complex commercial transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate high-value contracts, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
• Oversee and manage litigation and dispute resolution matters, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all local and international laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to mitigate risk and support business objectives.
• Advise on intellectual property strategy, employment law, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent qualification.
• Admission as an Advocate or Attorney with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate law, preferably with a significant tenure in an in-house setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in handling complex corporate transactions, M&A, and governance matters.
• Strong understanding of international business law and regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to lead legal projects, manage external counsel, and work effectively in a remote, fast-paced setting.
