Senior Legal Counsel

Our client is searching for an accomplished Senior Legal Counsel to join their esteemed fully remote legal department. This role is instrumental in providing strategic legal guidance across a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters. You will lead complex negotiations, manage significant legal risks, and contribute to shaping the company's legal framework. The fully remote nature of this position allows for optimal flexibility and accessibility, enabling you to collaborate effectively with teams across the organization and ensure robust legal support, all while working from your preferred location in or near Gauteng.

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on corporate strategy, governance, and high-value transactions.
• Lead the negotiation and drafting of complex commercial contracts and partnership agreements.
• Manage and oversee litigation, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution efforts.
• Develop and implement legal policies and best practices to safeguard company interests.
• Mentor junior legal staff and collaborate with external legal counsel.

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate and commercial law, with significant in-house experience.
• Admitted to practice law in South Africa.
• Demonstrated expertise in M&A, corporate finance, and international law.
