Prime Talent is partnering with a well-regarded Kansas City law firm to find a Litigation Associate to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build or grow a litigation career at a small firm with a steady flow of business, meaningful case responsibility, and a genuine commitment to work-life balance.

Our client is a seven-year-old, litigation-focused firm with a strong and growing book of business. Approximately 80% of the practice is litigation, split roughly 70/30 between plaintiff and defense work, with additional matters in creditors' rights and transactional work. The firm offers a collaborative, small-firm environment where attorneys get substantive experience early and work directly with firm leadership.

The firm's office is a beautiful, open-concept space in a vibrant Kansas City neighborhood, and it offers a flexible hybrid schedule.

The firm is open to candidates across a range of experience levels, from 1 to 7 years. Responsibilities and compensation will be tailored to each candidate's background.

• Manage litigation matters across a variety of practice areas, from case intake through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
• Take and defend depositions, and attend hearings and other court appearances
• Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel
• Support creditors' rights and transactional matters as needed

• J.D. and active license to practice law in Missouri (Kansas licensure a plus)
• 1–7 years of litigation experience
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively with a small team
• Experience in real estate or construction litigation is a plus, particularly for more senior candidates
• For earlier-career attorneys, the firm is open to a range of litigation backgrounds and is committed to training the right candidate

• Salary range: $90,000–$155,000, commensurate with experience
• 1,500 annual billable hour requirement
