Attorney

Gausnell, O'Keefe & Thomas LLC is a civil defense law firm located in Lafayette Square in St. Louis. The firm is seeking attorney candidates interested in civil litigation in one or more of the following areas:
Construction, Trucking and Transportation, Premises Liability, Product Liability, and/or General Liability.

A Missouri law license is required, and dual licensure with Illinois is a plus.

Our associates have the opportunity to gain experience from a team of attorneys with many years of trial experience who provide an engaging environment for training and professional development.

The associate can expect to be involved in all aspects of file workup including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and preparing pleadings, among other responsibilities as they arise.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active Missouri bar membership in good standing.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills, including the ability to draft persuasive pleadings, motions, and case evaluations.
• Knowledge of civil litigation procedures and ability to develop practical defense strategies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients, witnesses, and peers.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize assignments, and meet court and client deadlines.
• Sound judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a collaborative litigation team.
• Commitment to accurate, timely timekeeping and compliance with client billing and reporting guidelines.
