Senior Litigation Attorney

Our client, a leading firm renowned for its expertise in dispute resolution, is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Litigation Attorney to join its entirely remote legal team. This position is designed for a seasoned legal professional with a deep understanding of civil and commercial litigation, capable of managing complex cases from inception through to resolution. The successful candidate will be pivotal in representing clients, developing legal strategies, and ensuring the best possible outcomes.

• Manage a caseload of complex civil and commercial litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Develop case strategies and provide expert legal advice to clients.
• Conduct witness examinations and cross-examinations.
• Manage discovery processes, including document review and interrogatories.
• Negotiate settlements and advise clients on settlement options.
• Supervise junior legal staff and external counsel as needed.
• Stay current with all applicable laws, regulations, and court rules.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.

• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution.
• Admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil and commercial litigation.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex litigation from start to finish.
• Extensive experience with court appearances, trials, and alternative dispute resolution methods.
• Exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage a demanding caseload, and meet strict deadlines in a remote environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and client management skills.
