Legal Advisor

Our client is a distinguished financial services institution based in Kimberley, Northern Cape
, seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Advisor. • Provide expert legal advice on matters related to financial services, banking law, and corporate governance.
• Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including service level agreements, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts.
• Ensure compliance with South African financial regulatory requirements, such as those from the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA).
• Conduct thorough legal research and provide clear, concise legal opinions to management and relevant departments.
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
• Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution matters, working closely with external counsel.
• Support the business units on transactional matters, including due diligence and contract structuring.
• Stay updated on legislative changes and industry developments affecting the financial services sector.
• Advise on employment law matters pertinent to the organization.
• Contribute to a culture of ethical conduct and legal integrity throughout the company.

• Admitted Attorney or Advocate with at least 5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial services regulation, corporate law, and contract law.
• Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex legal concepts effectively.
• Experience working in a hybrid work model, demonstrating adaptability and productivity.
