Remote Commercial Litigation Attorney

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Commercial Litigation Attorney to join their dynamic, digitally-enabled legal practice. You will be responsible for managing complex commercial disputes from inception through to resolution, employing strategic thinking and persuasive advocacy.

• Manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters independently.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
• Develop case strategies and advise clients on potential outcomes and risks.
• Effectively communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel remotely.
• Analyze complex factual and legal issues to build strong cases.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions and testimony.
• Negotiate settlements and advise clients on strategic resolution options.
• Stay current with litigation best practices and relevant case law.
• Collaborate with remote colleagues and support staff to ensure seamless client service.

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a minimum of 6 years of dedicated commercial litigation experience.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and resolving complex commercial disputes.
• Deep understanding of South African civil procedure and evidence law.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding written and oral communication and advocacy skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Proficiency in legal research platforms and virtual collaboration tools.
• Experience in (specific industry, e.g., tech, finance) litigation is a plus.
• Strong client relationship management skills, adapted for remote interaction.
