Commercial Property Solicitor

Eventus Legal are seeking a Senior Commercial Property Solicitor for a full-time, permanent job in Chelmsford area of Essex, with an established law firm offering an excellent client base and a strong pipeline of commercial property and development work. This position offers hybrid working with one day per week at home (after probation) and the remaining days based in the office.

Salary is up to £75,000 for an outstanding applicant, plus a bonus equivalent to one third of fees billed above target. Benefits include statutory annual leave, an additional three or four days of closure over Christmas and an extra week's holiday after five years' service.

• Managing commercial property sales, purchases and other commercial conveyancing transactions.
• Advising landlords and tenants on leases, renewals, licences and related commercial property agreements.
• Handling property finance matters, including secured lending and refinancing transactions.
• Advising on development work, including site acquisitions, disposals and development-related property agreements.
• Working closely with colleagues across a busy commercial property department and maintaining clear, practical advice for clients.

The firm is looking for a commercially minded solicitor who can manage their own caseload and work closely with colleagues. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

• At least five years' post-qualification experience in commercial property; more extensive experience and breadth of expertise will be important for those seeking the highest salary.
• Strong experience in commercial conveyancing, landlord and tenant work, and development agreements.
• Experience of commercial property finance transactions.
• The ability to handle matters independently with careful attention to detail and sound commercial judgement.
• Ability to attend the office four days per week, with one day working from home.

The package combines competitive remuneration, a practical hybrid working arrangement and additional time off. The successful Senior Commercial Property Solicitor will also benefit from:

• Salary of up to £75,000, with the upper end reserved for an exceptional applicant who meets the full brief.
• Performance-related bonus of one third of fees billed above the agreed target.
• Hybrid working with one day per week at home and four days at the Hatfield Peverel office.
• Statutory holiday entitlement, plus an additional three or four days when the office closes over Christmas.
• An additional week's annual leave after five years' service.
