Our client is a cybersecurity business that helps organisations protect themselves against cyber attacks. They are looking for an interim Head of Legal to provide cover from early November, keeping the legal function running smoothly through a period of change.
The role covers the legal needs of the business, with a strong focus on commercial contracts for cybersecurity products and services, and on data protection across the UK, EU and US. You will be the senior legal point of contact for the wider business, giving clear, practical advice that supports commercial decisions and manages risk.
The position can be based in Paddington, London or in Amsterdam, with remote working also possible. It suits an experienced lawyer who is comfortable stepping into a senior role at pace and who understands how legal work operates in a technology environment.
Main responsibilities- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts for cybersecurity products and services, including customer, partner and supplier agreements
- Advise on data protection and privacy law across the UK, EU and US
- Provide day-to-day legal support and practical guidance to senior stakeholders across the business
- Manage the in-house legal workload, priorities and ongoing matters, ensuring continuity during the cover period
- Identify, assess and manage legal and commercial risk
- Instruct and work with external counsel where required
- Keep up to date with legal and regulatory developments affecting technology and cybersecurity
- Qualified lawyer in England and Wales or the Netherlands
- Significant experience in a senior in-house legal role
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, ideally within cybersecurity
- Working knowledge of UK, EU and US data protection law
- Experience working in a technology environment
- Knowledge of Dutch tax law
- Interest in, or knowledge of, the EU AI Act or the US CLOUD Act
- Locum cover for a Head of Legal position within a cybersecurity business, starting in November 2026
