Procurement / Purchasing, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Location: Bangor
Role Overview
To lead the procurement and ongoing management of a portfolio of indirect spend categories, ensuring best‑value supply arrangements, robust commercial management, and strong supplier performance. The role drives cost optimisation, risk reduction, and continuous improvement across key indirect areas such as facilities management, waste management, plant, fleet, utilities, site services and corporate support categories.
Responsibilities- Lead the strategic sourcing, tendering and category management of indirect goods and services.
- Evaluate, select, and onboard suppliers in line with group governance standards.
- Negotiate pricing, service levels, commercial terms and contractual frameworks to secure best value.
- Develop, implement and maintain framework agreements, SLAs and performance scorecards.
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance reviews, risk assessments and improvement plans.
- Conduct spend analysis, market reviews and benchmarking to identify savings opportunities.
- Support development of long‑term category strategies aligned to group procurement objectives.
- Manage portfolio spend against agreed budgets and savings targets.
- Resolve supply, service, quality or performance issues to ensure continuity of service.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance and relevant legal/regulatory requirements.
- Drive innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement across indirect supplier categories.
- Demonstrated, well‑rounded procurement experience (FM, IT, professional services, fleet, plant, utilities etc.)
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) preferred.
- Strong experience in supplier relationship and contract management.
- Proven track record of negotiating service‑based contracts and commercial terms.
- Good understanding of category strategy, demand planning and spend analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capability.
- Commercially astute, organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
