In this role, you’ll help ensure the right equipment, services and technologies are delivered where they’re needed most supporting national security and cutting‑edge capability.

As a Buyer, you’ll play a vital role in managing procurement and supply chain activities across dynamic defence programmes. Working closely with delivery teams and stakeholders, you’ll take ownership of supplier relationships and ensure goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost‑effectively and to the highest standards.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll be required to:

• Managing end‑to‑end procurement activities, from sourcing suppliers through to contract completion
• Preparing and issuing requests for quotation and evaluating supplier responses to recommend best value options
• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, acting as a key point of contact and conducting supplier visits
• Raising and managing purchase orders while maintaining accurate supply chain data and reporting
• Supporting procurement strategy and identifying opportunities to improve value, cost and performance

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 1 day onsite and 4 days working from home.

• Demonstrating experience within a procurement, purchasing or supply chain role
• Working within defence, manufacturing, engineering or a similar technical environment
• Managing supplier relationships and procurement processes end‑to‑end
• Communicating effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
• Organising workloads and working independently in a fast‑paced environment

• Willing to work towards membership of a relevant professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (Level 4 or above), or an equivalent business‑related qualification

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
