We are recruiting for a customer-focused Freight Forwarder to join a global logistics company based in Solihull.

This is a full operational role handling import and export shipments from quotation through to final invoicing. The position has a strong ocean freight bias, although candidates from air freight, road freight or multimodal backgrounds will also be considered.

Training can be provided on freight modes you have not previously handled.

• Manage ocean import and export shipments
• Handle the full process from quotation through to invoicing
• Act as the main point of contact for customers
• Provide accurate quotations and shipment updates
• Book freight with shipping lines, carriers and overseas agents
• Arrange collections, deliveries and international transport
• Prepare and check shipping documentation
• Complete customs documentation where required
• Monitor shipments and resolve delays or operational issues
• Liaise with customers, hauliers, shipping lines and overseas partners
• Ensure files are accurate, complete and invoiced promptly
• Deliver a consistently high level of customer service

• Previous freight forwarding or international shipping experience
• Experience with in import, export or cross-trade operations
• Ocean freight experience is preferred
• Strong customer service skills
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to manage shipments from start to finish
• Strong attention to detail
• Confident dealing with customers and suppliers
• Proactive approach to problem solving
• Willingness to learn new freight modes

You will be joining an established international freight forwarding and supply chain business with a global network and strong carrier relationships.
