We are working with a growing recycling business that is looking to appoint an experienced WEEE Waste Buyer to join their commercial team based in Sheffield.
This is a key role focused on sourcing and purchasing WEEE material, developing supplier relationships, identifying new opportunities, and maximising value from electronic waste streams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background within the WEEE recycling industry, with proven experience buying electrical waste from waste management companies, local authorities, recyclers, compliance schemes, manufacturers, or industrial suppliers.
Key Responsibilities- Source and purchase WEEE material from a variety of suppliers
- Develop and maintain relationships with waste management companies, recyclers, local authorities, manufacturers and industrial businesses
- Identify and secure new supply opportunities across the UK
- Negotiate purchasing prices and maximise commercial returns
- Manage supplier accounts and build long-term trading relationships
- Monitor market trends to remain commercially competitive
- Maintain accurate records of purchasing activity, supplier information and pricing
- Proven experience buying WEEE waste or electronic recycling materials
- Strong understanding of WEEE categories and grades.
- Experience purchasing from waste management companies, recyclers, manufacturers or compliance schemes
- Knowledge of downstream recycling processes and material recovery
- Commercially minded with strong negotiation skills
- Sales focused with the ability to build and develop long-term supplier relationships
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Full UK driving licence
- Salary negotiable depending on experience
