Job Description & How to Apply Below

Escape Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established manufacturing organisation with the recruitment of a Material Planner/Expeditor to join their Procurement & Materials team.

This is a key role within the supply chain function, responsible for ensuring materials are available when required to support production schedules. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, you will play an important role in keeping materials flowing, resolving issues and ensuring production can continue without disruption.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role, ideal for someone who enjoys supplier communication, problem-solving and taking ownership.

Reporting to the Material Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Running MRP outputs and converting requirements into purchase orders
  • Raising, maintaining and updating purchase orders in line with production demand
  • Expediting supplier deliveries and proactively managing shortages
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers to improve communication and delivery performance
  • Working closely with Production, Procurement and Supply Chain teams to ensure materials are available when required
  • Identifying and escalating potential material issues before they impact production
  • Resolving delivery discrepancies, supplier queries and order issues
  • Maintaining accurate system information, reports and material records

We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised and enjoys working in a busy manufacturing environment.

Experience working with MRP systems and purchase orders

Confidence communicating with suppliers and building effective relationships

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

A proactive approach to problem-solving and resolving issues

Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to get involved

This role would suit someone who enjoys picking up the phone, building supplier relationships and making things happen, rather than waiting for issues to escalate.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive Procurement & Materials team where development is genuinely encouraged.

The business is committed to investing in its people, with training support available including CIPS development.

The role offers:

  • Hybrid working (4 days onsite, Friday working from home)
  • 37-hour working week
    - Flexible start times
    - Early finish on Fridays
  • Training and development support

If you are looking for a role where you can make a real impact on production performance while developing your procurement career, then please send your CV today
