Ocean Import Coordinator

Location:

Solihull, Birmingham
Salary:
Up to £35,000 per annum
Working pattern:
Hybrid, two days working from home

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm. 37.5 hours per week

We are recruiting an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to join a friendly and supportive freight forwarding team in Solihull.

Package

Salary up to £35,000, depending on experience

Hybrid working with two days per week from home

24 days' holiday plus Bank Holidays, increasing to 25 days in 2027

Responsibilities

Managing ocean import shipments from origin through to final delivery

Handling FCL and LCL consignments

Liaising with customers, shipping lines, overseas agents and hauliers

Preparing and checking import documentation

Arranging customs clearance and deliveries

Providing customers with regular shipment updates

Producing quotations and managing costs

Resolving delays and operational issues

Maintaining accurate records on the freight management system

Requirements

Previous ocean import experience within freight forwarding

Good understanding of the end-to-end import process

Strong customer service and communication skills

Confident managing multiple shipments and deadlines

Organised, accurate and comfortable working independently

Customs knowledge would be beneficial
