Adecco is currently hiring a Buyer for a procurement opportunity with our Mississauga client. This role is ideal for an experienced supply chain professional with a strong understanding of tactical procurement, supplier management, and purchase order administration. If you are highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple purchasing priorities in a fast-paced environment, this could be a great opportunity for you.
In this position, you will manage routine and non-routine purchasing activities while working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, and Accounts Payable to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Salary: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
  • Location: Mississauga, ON
  • Schedule: Onsite, Monday

    - Friday work from home

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Purchasing / Buying / Supply Chain Management experience, ideally with a post-secondary degree
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency with SAP and strong overall computer skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of tactical procurement processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution and relationship management abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilitie
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refinery experience is considered an asset.
  • Procurement and inventory control experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, internal stakeholders, logistics providers, and Accounts Payable teams.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
Responsibilities
  • Process requisitions and convert them into purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Review requisitions for accuracy and completeness, working with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and obtain required information.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records, including purchasing activities and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, including working with third-party providers as required.
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding technical requirements, order status, delivery schedules, and supply issues.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate invoice processing and timely supplier payments.
  • Reconcile invoices and resolve discrepancies to support accurate financial controls.
  • Ensure purchase commitments align with existing contract agreements and established procurement policies.
  • Monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and compliance with applicable terms and conditions.
  • Administer applicable tax processes, including tax-exempt purchasing requirements.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, availability, service, and cost considerations.
  • Obtain quotations, verify pricing, and support supplier selection activities.
  • Promote compliance with procurement procedures and recommend process improvements where appropriate.
  • Lead annual purchase order administration, including the review, validation, renewal, and closure of standing purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and requisitioners to align purchasing requirements with operational and budgetary objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain operations.
