Remote Freight Forwarder

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Remote Freight Forwarder to manage international and domestic shipments for their business needs, operating entirely from a remote location to support operations linked to Paarl . You will be responsible for arranging the transportation of goods, negotiating rates with carriers, and ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations and documentation requirements. This role requires excellent communication skills to coordinate with clients, carriers, and overseas agents, utilizing digital platforms to manage complex logistics efficiently.

• Arrange and manage international and domestic freight shipments via air, sea, and land.
• Negotiate competitive rates with airlines, shipping lines, and trucking companies.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs declarations.
• Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance of goods.
• Track shipments and provide clients with regular status updates.
• Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transit.

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar international logistics role.
• In-depth knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures, and international trade.
• Proficiency with freight forwarding software and TMS platforms.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritize effectively in a remote setting.
