About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and strategic Agricultural Supply Chain Manager to optimize their operations based in Randburg. This role is pivotal in managing the end-to-end flow of goods, from sourcing raw materials and agricultural inputs to ensuring the timely delivery of produce to markets. You will be responsible for developing efficient logistics, managing supplier relationships, and implementing best practices in supply chain management to reduce costs and improve service levels within the agricultural sector of Gauteng.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies for agricultural products and inputs.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials.
- Oversee logistics and transportation, optimizing routes and modes of transport for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement inventory management systems to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
- Collaborate with production, sales, and marketing teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
- Monitor supply chain performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions using data analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the agricultural industry.
- Strong understanding of logistics, warehousing, and inventory management principles.
- Proven negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
