Procurement Specialist - Indirect

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Procurement Specialist with a focus on indirect spend to join their team, operating primarily in a remote capacity, supporting operations based out of Port Elizabeth. This role is critical for ensuring the efficient procurement of non-production goods and services, such as IT, marketing, HR, and facilities management. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts for these essential operational areas, driving value and ensuring high service levels.

The ideal candidate will excel at building supplier relationships and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies in a distributed team environment.

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for indirect goods and services, including IT, marketing and operational supplies.
• Conduct market analysis to identify new suppliers and opportunities for cost optimization.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, budgets, and ethical guidelines.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues proactively to ensure service delivery.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, specifically managing indirect spend.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
• Strong understanding of procurement best practices and market trends.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, suited for a remote role.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
