Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Logistics Planner to join their dynamic supply chain team. Operating remotely, this role is responsible for developing and optimizing transportation plans to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods across various regions, including servicing operations around Vereeniging . You will analyze logistics data, coordinate with carriers, and implement solutions to improve delivery times and reduce costs.

• Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly transportation plans.
• Analyze logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with internal teams (warehouse, sales) and external carriers to manage shipment schedules.
• Monitor carrier performance and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to plan, execute, and track shipments.
• Proactively identify and resolve potential logistical disruptions and delays.

• Proven experience in logistics planning , transportation management, or supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex logistics data.
• Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and related software.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills for liaising with carriers.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
