About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and highly organized Remote Purchasing Coordinator to manage procurement activities from anywhere, serving operations based in Port Elizabeth. This position is crucial for streamlining the acquisition of goods and services, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the board. You will be responsible for handling purchase orders, managing supplier communications, and maintaining accurate records, all while working independently.
This fully remote role offers the flexibility to work from home while contributing significantly to the supply chain management functions, supporting the company’s goals within the Eastern Cape region.
- Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders for various goods and services.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and issue resolution.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date database of suppliers, pricing, and purchase history.
- Assist in sourcing new suppliers and obtaining quotations as required.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Provide support to the purchasing team and other departments on procurement-related matters.
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Coordinator, Procurement Assistant, or similar role.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with procurement software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
