About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic Logistics Planner and Analyst to join their dynamic team in Port Elizabeth . This role is crucial for optimizing the company's supply chain operations, analyzing logistics data, and developing effective plans to improve efficiency and reduce costs. You will work closely with various departments to forecast demand, plan transportation routes, and identify areas for process improvement.
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of logistics principles within a commercial context.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction.
- Develop and implement logistics plans, including transportation routing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, operations, procurement) to ensure alignment of logistics activities with business objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on logistics performance.
- Research and recommend new technologies or strategies to enhance supply chain operations.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in logistics planning, analysis, or supply chain management.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Experience with logistics planning software or Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to convey findings and recommendations.
