Junior Buyer

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Buyer to join their growing procurement team, offering a remote working arrangement based out of Durban . This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about supply chain and purchasing. You will support senior buyers in sourcing goods and services, managing purchase orders, and maintaining supplier relationships. This role offers significant learning opportunities and the chance to develop essential skills in a key functional area, contributing to the efficient operation of the business from wherever you are located within Kwa Zulu-Natal .

• Assist senior buyers in the procurement process, including sourcing, price comparison, and vendor selection.
• Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Maintain communication with suppliers to track order status and resolve delivery issues.
• Update and maintain procurement records, databases, and files.
• Support the negotiation of prices and terms with suppliers under the guidance of senior staff.
• Conduct basic market research to identify potential new suppliers or cost-saving opportunities.

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong interest in a career within procurement or supply chain management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
