Buyer - Logistics & Distribution

Our client is seeking a specialized Buyer with expertise in logistics and distribution services for their operations based in Nelspruit . This role is crucial for securing cost-effective and reliable transportation, warehousing, and supply chain solutions. You will be responsible for managing relationships with logistics providers, negotiating service agreements, and ensuring operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the logistics market, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex contracts.

• Source, negotiate, and contract logistics and distribution services , including freight, warehousing, and transportation.
• Manage relationships with 3PL providers and other supply chain partners, monitoring performance and adherence to SLAs.
• Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards for transportation and logistics.
• Collaborate with internal operations and supply chain teams to align purchasing strategies with business needs.
• Process purchase orders and manage invoicing for logistics services.

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist with a focus on logistics or supply chain services.
• Strong understanding of the logistics industry , including different modes of transport and warehousing solutions.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills and experience managing service contracts.
• Proficiency in procurement software and supply chain management tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
