About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Remote Procurement Specialist to manage the sourcing and acquisition of construction materials and equipment for projects nationwide, with a focus on operations in Upington and surrounding areas. This role requires a strategic approach to procurement, aiming to secure high-quality materials at competitive prices while ensuring timely delivery to project sites. You will leverage your expertise in supply chain management and negotiation to optimize procurement processes from a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for sourcing and procuring construction materials, plant, and equipment.
  • Identify, evaluate, and engage with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including requisition, purchase order creation, and delivery tracking.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, budget constraints, and relevant regulations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal project teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and supply chain management principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for remote collaboration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
