Senior Buyer - Raw Materials

Our client, a significant manufacturer based in the Mahikeng region, is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer specializing in Raw Materials. This critical role involves the strategic sourcing and procurement of essential raw materials, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery to support production schedules. You will leverage your expertise to manage supplier relationships, negotiate advantageous contracts, and mitigate supply chain risks. • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for all key raw materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and innovation.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure competitive advantages.
• Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor commodity markets and economic trends to forecast pricing and identify potential risks.
• Collaborate closely with production, R&D, and logistics teams to ensure supply chain alignment.

• Extensive experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, with a strong focus on raw materials procurement.
• Demonstrated success in negotiating complex supply agreements and achieving significant cost savings.
• In-depth knowledge of commodity markets, supply chain dynamics, and risk management.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; CIPS or similar qualification preferred.
